The adjacent painting is that of the steamboat “Canonicus” . The “ Canonicus” was built circa
1842 and was powered by the full- size version of the REMPCO model.
The portrait of the “Canonicus” was painted by Christopher Greaves, the owner of the Yankee Steam
Works Museum in Guilford, CT where the REMPCO model will be on display.
