Answer: Rempco uses materials that provide the optimum combination of thread finish and wear resistance. Our lead screws are available in a wide variety of materials, however, some of the more common are medium carbon steel (1045), hardened alloy steel (4140 HT), and stainless steel (316, 440C). Screw material selection is application dependent and requires careful consideration of several factors including environmental conditions, lubrication, operation span, and nut material.
